Yes — the raw, unfinished edge is intentional and is the Boatkin's signature design detail. It gives the bag a relaxed, cool coastal vibe that suits everything from errands to boat days, and develops more character with wear, similar to raw-hem denim.
Is your Boatkin stiff or soft?
Structured, but not stiff. The heavyweight vintage-inspired canvas and piping holds the bag's shape and keeps it standing upright even when empty — unlike basic cotton duck totes, which slouch and sag.
