Our 14K gold watermelon tourmaline candy necklaces are hand-knotted on silk we custom dye vibrant colors in our Key West, Florida studio. Each tourmaline bead is meticulously hand-knotted and finished with gold French wire we hand-coil in-house. Watermelon tourmaline is prized for its natural pink-and-green bicolor banding, where no two beads are alike, so no two necklaces are either. What Is Watermelon Tourmaline?
Watermelon tourmaline gets its name from its naturally occurring pink core and green edge, a beautiful color pattern formed by mineral changes during the crystal's growth. Because every bead is cut from natural stone, color intensity and banding vary piece to piece, which is part of what makes each strand one-of-a-kind rather than a uniform, machine-matched set.

How It's Made
Tourmaline beads are individually hand-knotted on silk, an ancient technique borrowed from traditional pearl-stringing. The knots between beads keep the tourmaline from rubbing against itself, which protects the stone's surface over years of wear and lets the strand fall with a soft, fluid drape rather than sitting stiff.
Necklaces are finished with hand-coiled French wire—a small detail that reinforces the point where the silk sees the most wear and tear. All three variants are finished with 14K gold clasps.
How to Style and Layer an 18-Inch Necklace
At 18 inches, this piece sits at the collarbone—short enough to wear alone as a clean, single strand, and proportioned to layer under or over a longer chain if you like a stacked look.
