Owyhee blue opal comes from a small region of desert near the Oregon–Idaho border. Unlike Australian opal, it doesn't flash with rainbow color. Instead, it has a calm, milky sky-blue tone, like a clear desert sky. Because it comes from such a limited area, it's a special find for opal lovers.
